New leaders of Data Centre power supplies.
Data Centres are, in essence, the key facilities that house computer systems and associated components for big corporations, businesses and government sectors. From telecommunications (satellite communications and phone systems) to storage systems (hospitals, offices and internet providers), everyone needs a properly working Date Centre to run smoothly.
Supplying uninterrupted power to data centres 24/7, 365 days a year is essential for things to run smoothly. But in the case of a break-in supply, having a solid backup system is key to making sure operations are never interrupted. That’s why we at Synerflux only offer the best with our Data Centre Standby Power Supply services.
Why do you need a Standby Power Supply?
A backup power supply generators main role is to provide power to the system when something causes the main power supply to be brought down. Data center components usually won’t easily tolerate power spikes due to switching from a normal to emergency power supply.
That is why you need a proper functioning, high-quality Standby Power Supply system in place to make sure that when anything goes wrong, your Data Centre can continue to function smoothly.
Let’s break things down a bit more shall we? It’s a well-known fact that all Data Centres operate in two modes.
Normal Operations
Normal Operations mode is the standard mode of operation which is used when everything is running smoothly. When in this mode, power is supplied through the automatic transfer switch and into the switchgear system as per normal. Switchgear is configured into critical and non-critical supplies. The critical supplies are usually the main components that make up your Data Centre and keep it running.
Emergency Operations
This is where the Data Centre Standby power supplies system will come into play, and where the importance of having a proper one will be important. Emergency operations mode is activated when the main power supplies are affected and there is a cut in the flow of power through the facility. When utility power is lost in the facility the following chain of events occurs:
If you have a high-quality, state of the art Data Centre Standby Power Supply, like the ones provided by Synerflux, your Data Centre will see no power interruption and continue to operate normally even when you lose main power.
Mono Block Systems
Our Mono Block Systems are single uninterruptible power supplies units. They come in desktop, rack mount, tower and floor standing system sizes and can be installed as single backup power units.
Some of our larger monoblock UPS systems (from 10kVA upwards) can be installed with parallel cards to allow parallel/redundant configurations of N+X. Our mono block systems are designed to handle an overload condition as the components in them will allow them to remain protected in such a situation.
Modular Block Systems
Our Modular Block systems are designed to use a UPS frame into which various backup supply modules are placed. The frame sizes are designed for maximum usage, allowing a larger number of modules to be placed inside a single Modular Block.
The Modular Block systems also allow for easier stacking of backup supply modules. You can vertically scale the backup power protection provided by an uninterruptible power supply. Horizontal scaling can also be done by simply adding another Modular Block frame in parallel to the installation.
In conclusion
“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail”, is a famous quote that will echo true if you fail to prepare a proper backup power supply unit for your Data Centre. Don’t wait, be ready. Check out our top of the line Data Centre Standby Power Supply units today!
